“It was incredibly moving to see her intentionally playing with complex aspects of the language, like the way you structure a narrative, with the sole purpose of making me laugh. This is very difficult to learn and teach in regular school settings."

“As a teacher, I have to say I am blown away with how you taught such a range of ages in one group. It was astonishing to see the amount of growth and learning both my kids demonstrated in one week of camp. They came home each day inspired, and thrilled to voluntarily write, re-write, polish, and practice their pieces at home. I have never seen either of them so motivated to learn.”

“Emotionally, it provides a huge boost to self-esteem, especially for children who may be shy or unsure of their voice. Educationally, the kids strengthen their communication skills, expand their vocabulary, and sharpen critical thinking through writing and performing their own material.”

“What's incredible to see is my son's resilience grow at The Crow – for a kid who can be so hard on himself, I see him trying and failing, learning, understanding why things maybe didn't work, and then moving on and growing from each day. There's very little in his life that encourages this and shows this process so distinctly.”

“Our daughter has chronic and depilating stage fright. She’s spent the year in speech and language therapy through a school IEP. The Crow was the first time in her entire life that we have seen her happy and confident. It was a truly transformational experience.”

“My introverted child was very resistant to performing on stage. Throughout her week I could see her nerves turn to excitement and confidence. She even received an award- “Dazzling Deadpan Delivery” which honored her style as an autistic kid. And then her performance! Out of this world. This experience is a unique and wonderful gift that children of all ages and abilities should have access to!”

“The instructors at The Crow reached into our son, and helped him see the most tender parts of himself in a way that was not only worthy but funny, to be shared and valuable. He now believes he can take the dark parts of himself or what he sees in the world and make it light.”

“The social and emotional impact of this camp has been incredible. My daughter comes home more confident, expressive, and joyful…As a grant recipient, I’m especially grateful that the scholarship program allowed us to extend her time at camp.”
